A licensed clinician
You meet one-on-one, on live video, with a member of the Empathy Health clinical team.
The visits
Two kinds of checkups we help CareSource members get
Both are live video visits with a licensed clinician. Here is what your clinician covers in each one.
For adults
Yearly wellness visit
Every adult CareSource member is due for a preventive checkup once a year. Your clinician reviews your health, checks which vaccines and screenings you are due for based on your age, and makes a plan to get you caught up.
What we cover
- Your health concerns, from head to toe
- Your health history, medicines and allergies
- Vaccines: flu, COVID, tetanus, and others based on your age
- Screenings due for your age, such as cholesterol, diabetes, HIV, hepatitis C, colon cancer and eye health
- A short check-in on your mood and stress
- For women: birth control and family planning questions, Pap smear, mammogram and STD screening
- Whether you feel safe at home
For new moms
Postpartum visit
After you have a baby, a checkup for you matters as much as the baby’s. Your clinician checks how your body is healing, how you are feeling, and how you and your baby are doing at home.
What we cover
- How you are healing after delivery, including bleeding and any stitches
- Breastfeeding or bottle feeding, and how your baby is eating
- Bladder and bowel changes, and getting back to everyday activity
- Your mood, sleep and support at home, including a screening for postpartum depression
- Birth control options and planning ahead
- Vaccines and screenings you may be due for, like Tdap, flu and a Pap smear
- Referrals when you need them, such as lactation support or pelvic floor therapy
After your visit
We help with what comes next
A plan you understand
Before you hang up, your clinician walks you through what they found and what they recommend next.
Help getting caught up in person
Some things can’t happen over video, like a vaccine, a blood pressure and vision check, a Pap smear or a lab test. Our team helps you find and book an in-person appointment near you.
Connected to the right care
If something needs more attention, we help connect you to the right provider, from a specialist to lactation support.
